Sciatica in Pregnancy

experiencing sciatica from the pregnancy and also had anxiety about the birth. I first saw Maria during my second trimester of my first pregnancy. I luckily came across her through my pregnancy yoga teacher who could not recommend her highly enough as she had used her acupressure techniques during her own labour which she said were fantastic for easing pain naturally.
I had been experiencing sciatica from the pregnancy and also had anxiety about the birth.
My first session with Maria was fantastic. Her acupuncture techniques were really effective and really eased my pain. I also found that the treatment helped me relax and release tension. Also you can really tell the baby enjoys it too as they kick around during the treatment!
It’s a really lovely treatment for you and the baby.

I felt really comfortable with Maria and was really able to trust her. It’s really lovely for a first time mother to have a practitioner like Maria who listens, and tailors the treatments to fit your needs.
So often during hospital visits etc you are just a number.

I was particularly nervous about an operation I had had a number of years ago on my cervix and how that would slow down the labour or result in caesarean from my cervix not opening enough. In my last month Maria took this into consideration when choosing acupuncture points to prepare me for labour.

Unfortunately I had to be induced early due to a condition called OC. But Maria naturally induced me before hand. The hospital induction was then done a day after. I was able to have a smoother quicker delivery and felt more confident and relaxed The whole process was expected to take 24 hours or more but I delivered in 12 hours after hospital induction. The midwives were very surprised at how quickly I was able to deliver and said they almost never see this.

With Maria’s help I was able to have a smoother quicker delivery and felt more confident and relaxed. I would highly recommended her treatments pre and post natal. I also had trouble with my milk supply and she was able to treat that with acupuncture also. I also had Maya Massage treatment which is a wonderful soothing experience for any new mother and a pro active way to build your strength after the experience.

Feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful practitioner in Belfast!
